Philadelphia, PA -- Matrix Fights officially announced Monday that it will be returning for its fifth-ever event, Matrix Fights V, on Friday, March 16. The event will emanate from South Philadelphia at the Sheet Metal Worker’s Union Hall and will be headlined by Strikeforce and Bellator Fighting Championships veteran Sam Oropeza, 5-2 vs. “The Burmese Python” Aung La NSang, 8-6, in welterweight action.

 

Oropeza, a native of Philadelphia’s suburban region, will be fighting in his hometown for the first-time ever. Meanwhile, NSang, a King of the Cage veteran and resident of Elkridge, Maryland, will be looking to add to his collection of five submissions.

Matrix Fights V is officially scheduled to go off on Friday, March 16 from the Sheet Metal Worker's Union Hall in South Philadelphia, PA.

 

We have begun to put the card together for the event but still have openings. We are looking for amateur and pro fighters at all weights. Please respond if you are a fighter or work with a fighter that is interested in competing on the card.

 

Additionally, we have begun to make plans for our second show of 2012 in June. If you are unable to compete March 16 but want to fight for Matrix, feel free to submit your name for the June show.
